New features

  • New cool UI styles on:

  • New Blast Pass - fresh rewards for you to collect

  • New systems for equipment in the game:

    • Scrap your equipment to earn Coins

    • Spend Coins to Upgrade your favourite equipment to increase its level and make it more powerful

  • New button above the right joystick to quickly swap between your two guns

  • New Reload functionality. Now many guns have magazines that need to be reloaded after a certain number of shots. Reloading starts automatically when you are not shooting, but reloading is only happening when you carry a weapon, it can’t be done in the background. Reloading adds more meaning to the strategic choice of two guns and mastery of swapping between guns.

Systems update

  • For new players it’s not easy to learn how to shoot right away, so as a step towards a smoother learning curve we have added a reaction on β€œtap” for the shooting joystick. Now you can tap this joystick to shoot in the direction where you look. In addition to feedback, it also opens up a few interesting skill-based uses, like with some weapons it might be beneficial to shoot using taps, but to do so you need to skillfully move to look in the right direction

  • When you tap a special button to quickly use the special it will now aim at roughly 80% of its max range in the direction of where your character looks

  • Bots have more levels of difficulty now. Bots are also able to pick up gear in a match. The difficulty of bots is based on the average trophies of players in a match.

  • Trophies system change that will set bots' trophies to be around the average of players in a match. This way your losses will be lower in case you end up at the bottom, and you gain more trophies in case you win. But we will keep improving this system in further updates.

  • The in-game shop is back and fully available. If you want to speed up your equipment acquisition and equipment upgrade, you can buy cores in the shop that is available on the home screen. Each core in the shop contains 1 in-game equipment item

Improvements

  • A few dead-end areas of the map were changed to provide more ways to move and not be too punishing

  • Characters on the Home Screen got some visual improvements

  • Home Screen’s 3D scene was improved as well

  • We have finished the update of all guns' visuals - now all guns are stylish and suitable for the game

  • Now all rewards of players are given independently if the game crashed or player got disconnected. This will require further improvements in future updates so players don't lose trophies unfairly

  • Game performance during the match improved slightly for all devices

Balancing changes

  • Shrinking circle changes to make it less pressing and deadly, especially in the early game:

    • Step 1:

      • Initial delay 25 β†’ 20 seconds

      • Warning time 45 β†’ 40 seconds

      • Shrinking time 50 β†’ 60 seconds

      • Safe area size increased on 20%

      • Damage per hit decreased 5% β†’ 2.5% of HP

      • Airdrop timeframe changed 15-25 β†’ 13-19 seconds

    • Step 2:

      • Warning time 30 β†’ 25 seconds

      • Shrinking time 25 β†’ 30 seconds

      • Safe area size increased on 10%

      • Damage per hit decreased 10% β†’ 5% of HP

      • Airdrop timeframe changed 5-15 β†’ 5-14 seconds

    • Step 3:

      • Safe area size decreased on 25%

      • Damage per hit decreased 15% β†’ 10% of HP

    • Step 4:

      • Damage per hit decreased 30% β†’ 20% of HP

  • Weapon changes that had to be done due to reload functionality and reaction on tap, plus some additional balancing.

    • Skillfull flick shooting is beneficial for the following weapons:

      • Hammer

      • Scattergun

      • Pistol

      • Sniper

      • Laser Pistol

    • And the following weapons are more efficient with holding shooting joystick as they are more automatic weapons:

      • Heavy MG

      • Minigun

      • Grenade Launcher

    • Firerate changes:

      • RPG, attack cooldown 1 β†’ 1.2

      • Laser Pistol, attack cooldown 0.5 β†’ 0.45

    • Shotguns class got a few changes

  • Battle pass points rewards from matches have been updated as players dry the pool too quickly and then have nothing more to play for. So we reduced the top values:

    • 1st place 150 β†’ 120

    • 2nd place 140 β†’ 115

    • 3rd place 120 β†’ 110

    • 4th place 115 β†’ 105

    • 5th place 110 β†’ 105

    • 6th place 105 β†’ 100

    • 7th place 105 β†’ 100

  • We also made changes in how some attributes affect Craft Spice earnings.

    • Top Grades' influence on CS take from match was increased

    • Rarity doesn't increase the CS pool anymore as its role is mostly around gameplay stats and nice-looking cards

Bugfixes

  • Fixed some cases of players being invisible when they shouldn’t. Although not fully fixed it should happen less often

  • Fixed an issue when bots were landing on a map ahead of players

  • Fixed a bug when Shields Capacity pickups weren’t restoring Shields

  • Fixes issue where airdrop audio would overlap multiple times

  • Fixed some sounds missing in some UI buttons

  • Fixed issues that sometimes players would not get the rewards at the end of the match, causing a desync

  • Fixed issue that would make the leaderboard not being updatable on time when leaving a match

  • Fixed issue where Hammer sometimes would be rewarded in the Battle Pass

  • Fixed issue where email account creations would have wrong email and breaking the player accounts

  • Fixed visual issue on all purple backgrounds of the game

  • Fixed issue where Football helmet would be incorrectly affected by visual shaders of immunity and quad damage

  • Fixed issues where sometimes in Android devices the screen would look very glitchy

  • Fixed issue where the weapon spawner in the game would crash the match when either the match ended or when the match started for the player

  • Fixed issues where any operation on the main menu could potentially cause a match crash when the game would start or end

  • Fixed issues that after the player gets disconnected, the game would crash completely

  • Fixed issue where the timer on the top HUD for the airdrop and map wouldn’t be 100% correct in some circles

Known Issues

  • Players and bots are sometimes invisible on the screen while only seeing their footsteps (less frequently now)

  • Samsung and some other Android devices may crash in the middle of the match (less frequently now)

  • After a crash, if a player rejoins the game and plays a second ranked match before the first match is finished, then the game will have a desync error. So if you had a crash, it's better to wait for that crashed match to finish before you start a new match

New Features

  • New game icon

  • New way to play with NFTs! Now all the NFT’s in the game are connected with Polygon’s Mainnet and allowing players to trade openly on the Blast Hub

  • New currency added to the game β†’ Coins. Keep your eyes open for future updates and check what to do with this new currency

  • New and improved UI/UX with a new cool and consistent style, so we will be updating some parts of the game’s look in each update. In this one we have:

    • New β€œGame Mode Selection” screen. β€œCustom Game” option is now part of this new screen.

    • Updated β€œEquipment Overview” screen

    • Updated β€œMatch Ended” visual

    • Updated the β€œDisconnect” screen

    • New Discord button appeared on the Home Screen. Now you can quickly jump to the Discord server right from the game. It may also bring some new faces over there as well.

    • Some small windows have been updated to the new style as well

  • New mutators for Custom Games only: Absolute Accuracy and Hammer Time.

    • Hammer Time - no guns will be present, only Hammers

    • Absolute Accuracy - all weapons will have perfect accuracy, aside from weapons with arc fire (like shotguns) which will always act as if you had a stationary angle of fire

Systems update

  • Haptic (device’s vibration) now happens when you hit opponents, and not when you receive damage. There’s also a different vibration when you kill an opponent. And if you are not a fan of this feature - you can disable the vibration in the game settings

  • You can see the ammo bar showing your ammo even if you carry a melee weapon

  • You can hold the right stick without dragging to shoot in the direction of your movement

  • Now the system rewards the player more consistency if there are few players in the match

  • Bots now have 3 levels of difficulty and also changing their trophies accordingly: around 1000, 1100, and 1200

  • Deathmatch is no longer available as a Casual game mode in rotation. We decided to remove it for now to focus all our time and effort on Battle Royale game modes and other relevant systems. You can still play Deathmatch in a Custom Game but we are pausing any support for the Deathmatch, so it might not work reliably. The last change we made to Deathmatch is allow to bring your loadout gear (but not a gun) into the Deathmatch.

Improvements

  • Revamped the re-connection and connection lost system.

    • Now the game allows to use the main menu while offline (still requires to be online to open the game and play a match)

    • Now the game will attempt to reconnect automatically to the servers even if losing the connection for 1 sec

    • Added feedback to the Game HUD to show the player if he/she is losing connection to the server or the lag is high

    • Server and Game client connection is now much more stable

  • In Custom Games you will see β€œNone” in a dropdown list if no mutator is selected in the field

  • We did a lot of performance improvements to make the game run smoother in all devices across the board. Now the main menu and the match have a better frame rate and should have a better experience to all players

  • Within the session, your choice of settings in a Custom Game is remembered, as well as a last game mode you chose to play in

  • We got your feedback about the state of accuracy in the game, so we have tuned the accuracy of all weapons in order to allow them to be more accurate whilst moving. Additionally, we have introduced a new mechanic, where some weapons will gain increased range whilst standing still and aiming. To adjust for those changes we’ve made some balancing changes with weapons. More details are in the Balancing Changes section.

  • The home screen animations of the rewards UI/UX have been improved

  • Now the hammer ammo bar shows the player ammo instead of the animation cooldown

  • Improved the quit option during the game. Now players can only leave the match if is either a custom game match or the player is dead

  • Blast Pass Points values have been re-balanced to be more engaging. Generally, the beginning of the pass will be quicker, but then it will take more matches to complete steps

  • New in-game store. It’s very very simple for now though, in case you really eager to get even more equipment quickly

Systems update

  • β€œRanked” game mode will have bots again. We decided to bring them back for now while we don’t have enough concurrent players to fill the matchmaking

  • Matchmaking time in β€œRanked” was reduced to 60 seconds

  • As our Bots aren’t yet great in Battle Royale, their Trophies are always set around 1000

  • Added option to delete the account in the account settings to give you more ownership of your First Light ID account

Improvements

  • Armor, Movement speed, Damage and Pickup speed stats visuals are now showing 2 digits after dot

  • Attack range stat is now showing 3 digits after the dot

  • Winning Trophies VFX added to the Home Screen after the match is ended

  • Improved UI feedback when network errors happen during the account logout process

  • UI feedback was added to improve the game state when the game requests to quit the app. For iOS devices, it might not always quit the game but a visible screen will explain what to do next

  • Now the last selected game mode is maintained between game sessions. If the previously selected game mode is no longer available, the system will auto default to a new one

  • Change the text of the β€œHigh FPS Mode” in the settings screen to better reflect the functionality of the toggle. Now the options available is to run the game in either 30 or 60 FPS

Balancing Changes

  • β€œWarrior” gear set was split into 5 bonuses which was a bit too much as each bonus in this case is tiny. That’s why the number of bonuses was reduced to 4, but each one got bigger. The following bonuses were removed:

    • WarriorAmulet - no Pickup Speed bonus

    • WarriorArmor - no Shields Capacity bonus

    • WarriorShield - no Movement Speed bonus

    • WarriorHelmet - no Ammo Capacity bonus

  • As Upgrading feature is available in the Blast Hub we fixed some issues so each level up is meaningful and change is visible. Particularly the potential max values of bonuses for Health, Attack and Shields Capacity got increased on around 100%

Bugfixes

  • Fixed some issues where the trophies calculations would properly be processed in the end of the match

  • Fixed issue that would drop a hammer from chests during the match

  • Fixed issue that would crash the game when opening chests or players would die with their weapons

  • Fixed issue that would allow the players to collect the airdrop mid-air

  • Fixed issue that would cause disconnects to happen in the end of the match or doing any action on the main menu

  • Fixed issue that would crash the game if errors happen during the account logout process

New Features

  • New Custom Game screen where you can choose a game mode, a map, and up to two mutators

  • New Markers on the ground when a player dies in the match.

  • New Home Screen with better looking and clean visuals

    • Also new Background to match the new cool UI

  • New Login flow. Players can now register new accounts in the game directly without the need to go to the BlastHub

    • There is also the new option to start the game as a Guest. In this case the player has the option to later login or register a new account from the Settings menu

  • New non-NFT equipment now exist in the game. To play Ranked matches a player has to have at least 3 equipment pieces equipped - but those pieces might be NFTs or non-NFTs in any combination. To have a pool of Craft Spice though a player has to own NFTs and use at least one NFT in a Ranked match to be able to take Craft Spice from their earning pool

  • New Blast Pass where players can earn Blast Pass Points during a match to level up their Blast Pass level. When leveling up new non-NFT equipment are able to be collected. Blast Pass Points can be earned both in Ranked and Casual matches, but not in custom games

Systems update

  • β€œMight” calculation was changed to accommodate new stats that we’ve added and improve ratios of how stats are being converted into β€œMight”

  • Equipment items now have two more stats: Ammo Capacity and Shields Capacity

    • Ammo Capacity - all weapons come with their default values, but using gear you can slightly push the amount of ammo capacity further

    • Shields Capacity - now some gear pieces can increase the total amount of shields a player can obtain during a match

  • We’ve improved the weapons accuracy system - now the majority of bullets fly closer to the center of the accuracy arch, roughly like it would happen in a real world.

    • To determine the angle of a bullet trajectory we were using uniform random. But now we use the approximation of normal distribution. We used approximation for performance reasons because simulating more precise normal distribution is a very expensive operation.

  • We improved Crates drop logic for important things (equipment and shields capacity) so crates are more useful at any stage of the game:

    • First crate will drop you a weapon (if you don’t have them already)

    • Then crates will drop gear from your loadout

    • Then crates will drop you either shields capacity or equipment of higher rarity than you have equipped - this way even if you have a full loadout equipped it’s still useful to keep opening crates

    • All crates also have chances to additionally drop other things like ammo, health, shields replenishers etc.

  • Armor stat has been improved to work as a % reduction. Previously it was a value decrease which may cause situations of players having no damage at all.

  • Pickup Speed got changed to work as a % reduction as well.

Improvements

  • Added new backend more powerful servers to improve network lag between players in a match

  • If you pick up in a match the same weapon but of higher rarity then you no longer drop the lower rarity one on the floor

  • Improved the Battle Royale map image in the matchmaking screen to be a bit bigger and better reflect the real map size

  • Improved the Equipment card visuals in the equipment screen to better match the 3D art visuals

  • Improved the Airdrops to always be inside of the shrinking circle and avoid impossible drop collections

  • Increase a bit the performance of battle royale games in the beginning of the match

  • Improved the visuals of the grenades in the grenade launcher because were to hard to see

  • Now players are allowed to unequip weapons to the default Hammer weapon

  • Now is not allowed to start a match alone without any bots

  • Now it is always shown a confirmation dialog before leaving the match

  • Only 1 slot for Casual game mode to reduce the spread of players between various game modes

  • Added the option to toggle FPS values separate from quality settings

  • Countdown timer on the Matchmaking screen for Ranked games when 10 players have joined the room to indicate when the game will start

    • Also shows for casual game rooms, when the match will start if the room is not filled up in time

  • Controls have been improved

    • Movement joystick is now dynamic, allowing for better control of movement (toggleable in Settings)

    • Special buttons have been reworked, and should work more reliably, and feel better to use and cancel special abilities.

    • Controls layout and scaling has been tweaked for better user experience across a wider range of devices. There is more work to be done here, and we will continue until controls feel great to use on all devices.

Balancing Changes

  • Adjectives (Regular, Cool, Ornate, Posh etc.) system was improved to be more straightforward and less confusing. Now the higher the adjective - the better. Chances of adjectives for Blastboxes was changed to reflect this. These are the number of bonuses that adjectives give for gear:

    For weapons, all adjectives (except Regular) give only one bonus - to Attack. And these are the chances for adjectives from Blastboxes: Regular: 35% Cool: 25% Ornate: 18% Posh: 12% Exquisite: 6.5% Majestic: 2.79% Marvelous: 0.5% Magnificent: 0.15% Royal: 0.04% Divine: 0.02%

  • We’ve also touched Factions so they are closer to each other in the strength of the bonuses they provide:

    • Dimensional faction, as being the most rare one, gives 100% strength of bonuses

    • Uncommon factions (Shadow and Celestial) give 92.50%

    • All other factions give 80%

  • To help you navigate the factions there’s a chart of what different factions are focused on in terms of bonuses, with bonuses mentioned in order of priority:

    • Order - Armour, HP, Attack

    • Chaos - Movement Speed, Pickup Speed, Attack

    • Organic - HP, Attack Range, Attack

    • Dark - Shields Capacity, Ammo Capacity, Attack

    • Shadow - Shields Capacity, Attack, Attack Range

    • Celestial - Armour, Attack, Movement Speed

    • Dimensional - Ammo Capacity, Attack, Pickup Speed

  • Materials also got fixed so the higher the material the better. The scale of materials is the following, from lowest to highest:

    • Plastic

    • Steel

    • Bronze

    • Carbon

    • Golden

  • We also improved the direction of various gear sets that we have:

    • Soldier set has an emphasis on Armour, while also giving bonuses to HP, Shields Capacity and Ammo Capacity

    • Warrior set has balanced stats

    • Mouse set has an emphasis on HP, while also giving bonuses to Attack Range and Shields Capacity

    • Riot set has an emphasis on Attack, while also giving bonuses to Attack Range and Ammo Capacity

    • Road set has an emphasis on Movement Speed, while also giving bonuses to Pickup Speed and Ammo Capacity

    • Baseball items help with Attack Range

    • Football items help with Movement Speed and Shields Capacity

  • Default movement speed in Battle Royale was reduced: 300 β†’ 275

  • Default HP in Battle Royale was reduced: 1000 β†’ 600, to make it important to obtain HP through gear or have a risk of going into non-HP builds

    • Health Pack value in Battle Royale reduced from 400 to 250 accordingly

  • Default value for Maximum Shields Capacity in Battle Royale was reduced: 1600 β†’ 1000. It’s to make room for bonus gains from equipment

  • Speed Up mutator was reduced: 40% β†’ 30%

  • Healthy Air mutator was increased: 50 HP every 5 seconds β†’ 100 HP every 3 seconds. With this mutator you can pay less attention to looking for health packs and increasing your HP in advance, while pushing into other stats

  • Some specific changes around weapons:

    • First of all, a big bug was fixed with how gear was giving attack bonus to weapons which caused weapons to be massively different to where they should be according to the balancing

    • In accordance with the above fix and other balancing changes, the base Attack stat of all weapons was reduced on ~75%

    • Scattergun:

      • Delay between shots 0.6 β†’ 0.8

      • It still has a powerful two burst shot, but opponents has a better chance to retreat if they survive the initial attack

    • SMG:

      • Initial attack delay was 0.3 β†’ 0.2

      • Attack to damage ratio 25% β†’ 35%

      • Attack range 5 β†’ 5.25

      • The benefit of this weapon lies in a fact that it can shoot a long time from a single ammo bar, about 40 seconds.

    • Assault Rifle:

      • Base Attack was reduced further on 20%

    • Hunting Rifle:

      • Minimal attack angle 3 β†’ 8

      • Attack range 10 β†’ 9.5

      • Ammo capacity 25 β†’ 23

      • It is still powerful, but less accurate when standing and also can’t shoot as far and as long

    • RPG:

      • Burst size 4 β†’ 3 rockets

      • Accuracy angles min 10 β†’ 25 and max 25 β†’ 35

      • It’s now less accurate and less deadly from just one hit, however still powerful. A chaotic weapon

    • Minigun:

      • Attack to damage ratio 30% β†’ 55%

      • Attack range 6 β†’ 6.5

      • Ammo capacity 200 β†’ 165

      • Base Attack was increased further on 20%

    • Shotgun:

      • Attack to damage ratio 15% β†’ 20%

      • Base Attack was reduced on 30%

      • Bullets per burst 8 β†’ 7

    • Sniper:

      • Aim time 0.4 β†’ 0.3

      • Ammo capacity 25 β†’ 30

      • Attack range 10 β†’ 11

    • Daedalus:

      • Attack range 5.5 β†’ 6

    • Carbine

      • Attack range 7 β†’ 7.5

    • Heavy MG:

      • Base Attack was reduced on 10%

    • Laser Pistol:

      • Base Attack was reduced on 15%

    • Needle Gun:

      • Attack to damage ratio 25% β†’ 30%

    • Pulse Rifle:

      • Number of bursts 4 β†’ 2

      • Attack to damage ratio 75% β†’ 70%

    • Electron Thrower:

      • Attack cooldown 0.02 β†’ 0.05

      • Attack to damage ratio 3% β†’ 30%

  • Stun Grenade can be thrown further, 7 β†’ 9

  • And some specific changes in Deathmatch mode as well:

    • Defaul Movement speed 400 β†’ 375

    • Default HP 800 β†’ 300

    • Healthpacks in restore less HP: 100 β†’ 40

    • Default Shields Capacity 800 β†’ 400

    • Shields Replenisher pickups on maps changed to small ones that restore 200 capacity

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused 100% drop rate of equipment pieces even from low quality chests

  • Fixed an issue that would reward the wrong $CS in the end of the game sometimes

  • Fixed an issue that sometimes weapons would have double the range

  • Fixed the issue where Hammer would be influenced by the attack range bonus

  • Fixed an issue where gear would improperly add the attack bonus to the weapon

  • Fixed issues that would lock matchmaking for spectators in the matchmaking screen

  • Fixed an issue where spectators would never be able to leave the deathmatch game

  • Fixed an issue where spectators would crash the game when reconnecting to the match

  • Fixed an issue that when reconnecting to the game, the matchmaking screen wouldn’t disappear

  • Fixed an issue that would cause the camera to error out when skydiving to death in a battle royale match

  • Fixed an issue that would cause the health bars to be bad positioning when reconnecting as a player on a deathmatch match

  • Fixed the issue that would not enable players to leave the end of a deathmatch

  • Fixed the issues where some colliders would be too big on some battle royale zones

  • Fixed the issue that would make the match start when one of the player leaves the matchmaking screen

  • Fixed the issue where some collection animations and collection circles wouldn’t disappear after collecting the items or boxes

  • Fixed an issue where players that are not the master client of the room would be able to kick other players

  • Fixed an issue that sometimes some buildings would show the player with the incorrect graphics when inside

  • Fixed issues where sounds would either crash the game or play improperly in the wrong times

  • Fixed issues where bots would not collect weapons and other collectables in the middle of the match

  • Fixed issues where bots would still attack dead players and move in the wrong direction to players

  • Fixed issue that the block damage would be shown even when damage is given but very low

  • Fixed issues that wouldn’t allow to reconnect to the game in the matchmaking screen sometimes

  • Fixed issue that would make the shield values not to properly be set on respawn

  • Fixed issue that trying to kick an non existing player would crash the game

  • Fixed an issue that if a player tries to dash when re spawning during the deathmatch very quickly would create game problems

  • Fixed issue that would allow players to select a map zone after the Match is already locked to start

  • Fixed issue where Hammer cooldowns wouldn’t reset properly after respawning on deathmatch

  • Fixed issue where the Blimp Map would create errors on the matchmaking screen

  • Fixed with text and numbers being incorrect in the equipment screen for some equipment pieces

  • Fixed the issues that would make the deathmatch end if more than one player is alive

  • Fixed the sound being played when players change their weapons

  • Fixed issues while collecting things on the map that would crash the game randomly

  • Fixed sounds not playing when pressing the back button

  • Fixed visual problems on the bullets exploding behind the walls with ugly blue squares

  • Fixed the salsa dancing issue in the end of the match

  • Fixed issue that would cause the game to crash if you collect a weapon at the same moment you die

  • Fixed the issue where death feedback text in the UI wouldn’t be visible for very small screens

  • Fixed the issue where the UI wouldn’t reflect the current player being observed on the current progress to end

  • Fixed visual animations for the arrows on the matchmaking screen
